Only got up to 502 yesterday, for a total of 15,711. And yes, I know I need to update my Word Count page. I will do that today. I promise.

Sorry for no final update yesterday--I was out (at a BAR, of all places!) really late. (If you didn't catch why that's weird, it's because I don't drink. ;-) They were having an open mic contest and my roommate entered, so I was there to cheer for him.)
Anyway, I did another 428 yesterday afternoon, which gave me a total of 2459 for the day and 15,209 in all. I was pretty proud of myself, since it was a busy day.
Today is not going so well. I've only written 348 words so far. I'm in sort of a difficult place--I know what's happening later on, but I'm not sure what should be happening in this chapter. Oh well, I'll figure it out... I want to make it to at least 16,000 tonight. I can get away with not doing more than that since I have a long weekend!

Got to 14,781! That's 2031 words so far today, in two and a half hours. Not bad. I'm going to try to do some more this afternoon--I want to at least make it to 15,000.
And I'm at the beginning of Chapter Five!

Sorry about the no updates yesterday. I had to work a lot and it ended up being a generally yucky day, and so basically I took one of my days off. Well, I wrote 193 words, but that barely counts. But at least I wrote, right?
I'm going to do 2000 this morning, and then hopefully more later between my shifts at work. But now for the 2000. Yay.

Ooh, I just noticed that I've already written a little more today than yesterday. Just by a few words, but still, it makes me happy. I didn't like my daily word count going down every day.

I wrote a little more off and on this afternoon, finishing Chapter Three and getting a start on Chapter Four, where they're at the ball! It was another 206 words, in fact, so I'm up to 2242 for the day and 10,243 in all. Tonight I'm planning on watching TV and working on a birth sampler I have to finish, but I'll probably leave the novel window open and type a little when I get inspired. My final word count for the day will be right before bed. :-)
Okay, time to make a cup of tea and decide who I'm going to vote for tomorrow!

I wrote 2036 this morning, so I am now at 10,037! Yay!!! I'm one fifth of the way done. That's so great. I am planning to do more today as well, though. But now I'm going to eat lunch and then go get my books at the library!

Okay, I've had a weird morning. I haven't actually managed to get started yet. But I think I'm ready now.
I came up with a system of rewards/updating/etc. to try for today. Whenever I hit a 1000 mark (9000, 10,000, etc.) I can have a treat--piece of Halloween candy or cup of tea or something. When I've written 2000 words today, I can have lunch and go to the library to pick up the books I requested that came in. One each half hour (11:30, 12:00, etc.) I'll update my Excel report card and my count on the NaNo site. And I'm going to try to only look at my word count then, as well.
Good morning! I have the day off from work today, and I decided to devote most of the day to getting ahead on/doing research for NaNo. I'll do at least 2000 words, of course, which will bring me to over 10,000! That will be exciting!

I wanted to make 8000 tonight, and I did! I just hit 8001. That's 227 tonight, and a total of 2234 for today. Not bad at all!

I forgot to write an update when I finished writing this morning. I wrote 2007 words so far today, in five spurts of 15 minutes. (Did dishes and e-mail and stuff in between.) So my current total is 7774. I think I'll do a little more tonight, since I don't have to go to work tomorrow. I'd like to get up to 8000, and then to 10,000 tomorrow.
I think the writing in 15 minute bursts idea works well for me. I think about what I'm going to write while I'm in the breaks, and then just sit down and write it. It also keeps it seeming manageable. Plus, it's more fun--like a race. How much can I write before the timer goes off??
I sent the first chapter to my mom, and she loved it! Yay! Positive feedback is good.

Good morning! I'm going to be busy later today/tonight, so my plan is to write a lot this morning. At first I'll probably be alternating 15 minute bursts of writing with doing dishes, then I have to do some laundry and stuff. Yeah. But you don't care about that.
I am on chapter three, which is when Louisa and Lucy meet Jane, Gregory, and Buck. Chapter Four will be the ball that night where Louisa dances with Buck. (Getting ready for the ball will either be the end of 3 or the beginning of 4, whichever seems better at the time. Chapter Five will be another of the family at home, and then Chapter Six is when they take Jane with them to the theater. And that's as far ahead as I've figured out what's in what chapter. :-)
