Okay... this is it! I think I have everything, so... I'm off! I'll do one more entry with the link to the trip blog to make sure that's on top, but other than that, this is probably my last here for a while.

I'm sure I'm forgetting something, of course... oh well. I figure the only really necessary things I can't replace in CT before leaving for Europe are my passport, wallet, laptop, a few good luck/cuddly homey sort of things, and a picture of J and Tess. And I've got all that. So I'm okay. (Ack. I just sort of thought of something and then forgot it. What was it what was it what was it? Ackackackackack. I keep almost thinking of it and then not. "Cell phone charger" [which I don't need] was close, somehow, but... OH! My inhaler! Yes! Okay!)

Sheesh. Okay. I'm excited and scared and sad and already homesick but looking forward to it all at once. Please read my trip blog so I feel like I'm not completely isolated! And e-mail me! Lots! kat@prettyposies.com

Sooo much to do. So excited and nervous. Ack ack ack.

Well, I said goodbye to J. I'm leaving for my parents' house while he is at work today. I didn't quite cry, but almost. Of course, being apart for three weeks used to be completely normal for us... but since I moved in, it's not at all. I'm going to miss him and Tess so so so much. What am I going to do without them?

I got an adaptor for my laptop and a bunch of language books--Italian phrasebook, Italian dictionary, Italian grammar, and French and Spanish little phrase booklet things. We're just going to be in those countries a little, so I don't need to know as much, right? Yeah. But I feel much better knowing I will be about to talk to people. Talk talk talk. The more excited I get, the more nervous I get. But I will be all set. Right?

I've decided that I'd like to have SOME contact with you all while I'm away, so I've set up a Trip Blog! I will post in it if possible; if not, people I e-mail/talk to on the phone will post and at least tell you that I made it safely to each place, etc.

And when I get home I will type up the diary I hope to keep!

I'm getting excited. And nervous. And sort of dreading it. And everything. Being away from J and Tess for so long will be hard. And I'm not sure how I will deal with being with my family for so long at a stretch--it's been almost 2 years since I've been with them for that long.

But come on, it's EUROPE. So of course I'm excited. It should be tons of fun. And part of it is a cruise--something I've always wanted to do. And most likely something I will enjoy more now than I would have had I been younger, since I'm an adult (let's see if the relatives acknowledge that) and can go around by myself and meet people (and guys) and stuff. Yay yay yay. I got my first ever (well, since puberty at least. Probably since about age 5) two-piece bathing suit! Not a bikini... the kind with the little shorts and tube top. But still.

Oh, yeah, I had meant to post about that... I finally went trip clothes shopping today. Got the bathing suit and a formal dress and two casual dresses and three skirts and a crocheted short-sleeve cardigan to wear over sleeveless things so they let me in churches. (Apparently you can't go into churches there with sleeveless or shorts. Hence all the skirts and dresses.) Cost about $200, but I got it all way on sale at Kohl's. And I really needed some new clothes anyway. So that was exciting.

Okay, back to trip preparations!
