Okay, time to go feed kitten.

Thunder thunder thunder. Kitten does not like thunder.

Yeah. Just thought I'd tell you what music is on at work today.

1. What is your lineage? Where are your ancestors from?
My mother's side is Italian. My father's is Irish and Welsh.

2. Of those countries, which would you most like to visit?
Hmm. Difficult choice. Wales? Ireland? Hmmm... both, really, but I guess I'd pick Ireland.

3. Which would you least like to visit? Why?
Well... I just visited Italy last month, so I guess that's what I'd want to visit least right now. I loved it there, but I'd rather go to the other places before going back there.

4. Do you do anything during the year to celebrate or recognize your heritage?
Mostly little things... I cook Italian food often, and try Welsh and Irish every so often. I've dabbled in all three languages and hope to really learn them. I read whatever I can get my hands on about Ireland and Wales. I always celebrate St. Patrick's Day, and sometimes St. David's (Welsh) and St. Joseph's (Italian) as well. I do some genealogy research and generally like learning about my heritage.

5. Who were the first ancestors to move to your present country (parents, grandparents, etc)?
On my mother's side, it was my great-grandparents. On my father's, we're not as sure... we think they all came over in the mid-1800s.

A little while ago I ran to the water fountain to get a drink. (We're not allowed to eat or drink anything in the library, and I'm here alone, so I had to make it quick.) And I saw that in the foyer place where the water fountain is there was a guy at a table with stacks and stacks of pizza boxes. He was giving it away! I thought that was really funny after I had been saying that I wanted free pizza at work too.

Of course, since I was in the library alone, I had to be quick. I took the smallest piece I saw and ate it quickly and rushed back in the library. And of course, who should be standing there waiting but the cute art history professor? (I must mention that there has NEVER before been anyone waiting when I get back after a break.) So I was all "Oh dear, is there sauce all over my face?" and all. It was very embarrassing. But he said he didn't mind waiting at all and knows it's hard when there's only one of us here. And he said "I hope you got some of that pizza out there," so that made me feel better about eating on the job. Of course, I totally know that I only think he's so cute because his name is Mark. And that's a silly reason to like someone.

But yeah. The whole thing was rather interesting.

I also couldn't figure out how to build a quarry. Must find that too.

So guess what my wonderful roommate gave me for my birthday! A new game . . . and tickets to an oldies benefit concert in November! I'm really excited.

I've split the blog into several topical blogs. This will stay for general postings. The Photolog will have a picture a day. Biblioblog focuses on reading, By Hand on crafting, Wordcraft on writing, Home Sweet Home on making my house a home, and Health on health and fitness. (Need a new name for that last one. Suggestions?)

I'm trying to determine if Homespun is on sale anywhere this week. I decided I need to get some and make a sweater. But I will not start it until I finish two knitting WIPs. No I won't.
